ZCut Studio Plus

Software Licence Agreement (EULA)

Effective 2 October 2026. Copyright © 2026 Tapajit Chakraborty, trading as ZCut. All rights reserved. This agreement is between you and Tapajit Chakraborty, trading as ZCut ("Licensor") for ZCut Studio Plus ("the Software"). By installing or using the Software you accept it.

1. Grant of licence

Free version. The Licensor grants you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the free features of the Software on computers that you own or control, for personal, educational and commercial use.

Premium. When you buy Premium and activate it with your registration key, the Licensor grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Premium features on the number of computers you have paid for (one seat per computer). Premium is a perpetual licence: you pay once and it does not expire, subject to section 10.

2. Seats and activation

  • Premium is activated per computer over the internet. After activation it works offline.
  • You can move a seat to another computer by deactivating the old one in your account, or from the Software.
  • Your registration key is personal to your account. You must not publish it or give it to anyone who is not licensed under your account.
  • The Software may occasionally check online that your licence is still valid. If it cannot connect, it keeps working.
  • If the Licensor ever stops operating the activation service, it will release an update so that activated Premium licences continue to work.

3. Restrictions

Except where this agreement or applicable law expressly allows it, you may not:

  • copy, distribute, sell, rent, lease or sublicense the Software, or host it for others;
  • modify it, or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it;
  • remove or alter any copyright or licence notice;
  • circumvent, disable or tamper with licence checks, activation tokens or Premium restrictions, or generate or share keys;
  • use the Software to break the law or the rights of others.

Nothing here limits any right you have under law that cannot be excluded by agreement.

4. Third-party components

The Software includes third-party components, including Electron and Chromium, dockview and ws. Each is licensed under its own terms, listed in the file THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md installed with the Software. Nothing in this agreement limits your rights under those licences.

FFmpeg. The Software uses FFmpeg, licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3 or later, as a separate program. It is not included in the installer. With your permission the Software downloads it from its public release page. You keep all your rights under the GPL for FFmpeg, and may use your own build by setting the FFMPEG_BIN environment variable. Source code for the FFmpeg build is available from ffmpeg.org. On request, support@zcut.in will provide the corresponding source for at least three years from the date you received the Software.

5. Your content and your streams

You are responsible for holding the rights to any video, audio, music, images, graphics and fonts you use, record or broadcast with the Software, and for following the terms of the services you stream to. Fonts installed on your computer are not part of the Software and remain under their own licences. The Licensor does not own, review or store your content, and does not see it.

6. Updates

The Licensor may publish updates, which may add, change or remove features. Updates you install are covered by this agreement. A Premium licence covers the Premium features of the Software as they exist in the versions you receive. The Licensor may offer a separate, clearly described paid product in future.

7. Data

The Software stores your sessions, recordings and settings on your computer and sends us only the licence information described in the Privacy Policy.

8. No warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. Live production depends on your hardware, drivers, network and settings. Test your setup before important events.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE LICENSOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE. THIS INCLUDES ANY LOSS OF RECORDINGS, BROADCASTS OR LIVE-PRODUCTION DATA, AND ANY INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR PREMIUM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR RS. 1,000 FOR THE FREE VERSION.

10. Termination

This agreement lasts until ended. You can end it by uninstalling the Software. The Licensor may end it, and revoke a Premium licence, if you materially break it (for example by sharing keys, or by a reversed or fraudulent payment) and do not fix the problem when asked, where fixing is possible. On termination you must stop using the Software and delete your copies. Sections 3, 8, 9 and 11 continue to apply.

11. General

This is the whole agreement about the Software and replaces any earlier terms for it. If part of it is unenforceable, the rest still applies. It is governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [Your City], India have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any consumer right to bring a claim elsewhere. Purchases are also covered by the Terms of Service and the Refund and Delivery Policy.
